Hey there!

I'm writing you from the beautiful mountain town of Bend, Oregon. The first proper snow of the season started falling yesterday, and while all my skier friends are celebrating, I'm a bit bummed because this is the end of mountain biking until at least the ides of March.

That's ok, though -- I hope this is the year that I finally take my first steps into cross-country skiing, skate skiing, to be exact. And also, it's a lot easier to wrangle my adventure compatriots into the game night while it gets dark by 5pm. In fact, I need to send them all a message and see if I can find a pub for us to play The Resistance or Ticket to Ride Wednesday evening.

Last -- I'm hoping I can use the lack of outside activity to make some headway on this free statistics course I signed up for-- but honestly, I'm not making any promises to myself on that front.

How are you? Are you looking to trade snail mail regularly with a stranger? I hope so— I want to hear what's going on in your life -- maybe discuss some current events? Share article snippings from print magazines?

I'm really looking for something platonic, a friend far away, and not viewed through a screen of glass and silicon and hopefully plus or minus six years of age 35.
