"Gah! What in the 7 Gods was that?" I scream as I am engulfed in a cloud of blue light and the smell of ozone, tinged with a slightly sweet smell like a burnt marshmallow.

"Bah a Human? At last. I have been hungry!" Rumbled a deep voice from inside the cave.

I had been spelunking and as I lowered myself in a crevice I felt the shock of my life. My first thought was I found some long abandoned underground power line, but this rumbling made me think I had either knocked myself out, or I was very very very wrong.

"Um, you really don't want to eat me!" I cried out.

"What?!? Who is there?" The voice growled lowly.

"It's me. The human you smell. I don't think I would taste good with as grimy and sweaty as I am!" I state trying to think quick.

"Impossible, humans do not speak the old tongue! You must be a shape shifter!" The voice hissed.

"No really. Just a plain old human! I was just exploring this cave and got a frightful zap! I don't want any trouble, just to get out of here!" I said, trying to keep from being eaten by whatever this huge thing was that I couldn't see.

"Ah it makes sense now. What year is it human?" The voice asked.

"2025, sir er ma'am. Er, what should I call you?" I stammered

"Ah that makes even more sense now. I have been at rest for over 1500 years. It is no wonder you got struck by my latent energy. That's how you can understand me." The voice said, with realization dawning on it.

"Wait just a moment as I light a torch." With that, a giant stream of fire flew through the room, illuminating everything and igniting a brazier set high in the chamber. The source of the flame was now visible. It was a large moss covered beast. If I didn't know better I would think it was...

"You're a dragon?!?" I screamed as it dawned on me what I was seeing!I scrambled back against the wall.trying to put distance between us.

"Calm down. You are in no danger! We are bonded now. Soon we will leave this chamber, and together we may just rule this world!" Spoke the giant lizard as he looked down at me.
