Don’t understand why WVA sat up at 1.2 when he was nearly on the wheel of SKA. Clearly still had a sprint in him. Probably cost himself the race there, never got the chance to catch Stuyven again.
If it is your only chance at winning, why not? What should you care if you give Ewan a 95% chance of winning if it means your own odds go from 0% to 5%?
Because WVA is the only one that actually increases his odds of winning by doing so. MVDP and Ala are way too far back. Ewan has even less of a chance at winning a sprint where he has to pull going into it. With the strategy you’re defending, what are his odds to win? Now what are his odds of beating Ewan in a sprint even after pulling? Only one of those is non-zero
Who he beat in a bunch sprint last week... Ewan becomes the favorite but it gives WVA a much better chance at the win. The defending champ shouldn’t be racing for 2nd place. What chance does he have to win the race by leaving the gap? Is Ewan gonna close it?

Sometimes his nuclear watts carry the day, sometimes his poor tactics and positioning sink him. Today was the latter.
