Anybody else notice they don't get as much flavor compared to charcoal smokers? Definetly not getting that thick pink smoke ring on meats.

I have a z grill smoker and have done a variety of meats so far. Brisket, ribs, pork butt, whole chicken, steak, wings, and sausages.
Don't get me wrong, I think the meats are cooked perfectly. I am just always a little disappointed with finished product. Also adjusting to how to food looks after a smoke, more red then black.
