Why does everyone seem to recommend the XXL Pro but every dealer shows them with 3 star ratings and bad QC?
Post Body

I'm looking to upsize from my old GMG Trek. Been looking for a solid verticle smoker. The Grilla Mammoth is right about where I want to spend but it's obviously OOS. I really don't want to spend the price for a Lonestarz or Smoke Daddy. The Pit Boss all have bad reviews. So I thought I'd check out the XXL Pro but everywhere I can buy it, they're at like 3 stars. I check reddit and every thread seems to have someone raving about how great they are.

I'm tempted to get another GMG like the Prime 2.0 but I've been reading about QC issues on those too.

So I'm really at a loss. Either I just suck it up and get a Smoke Daddy Pellet Pro or Lonestar Grillz whatever. Or wait and get the Mammoth.

Edit: I ordered a Camp Chef XXL Pro. Will keep an eye out for a Mammoth though.

Comments

It’s mostly due to shipping damage, missing parts, and very vague assembly instructions. The smoker itself while not double lined, still makes excellent food. Camp Chef has great customer service and I don’t think you have much to lose by trying it out. In short, don’t go by the reviews. I ignored them and I’m much happier for doing so.
