it’s a tall task; choosing a favorite PJ/PJ-adjacent album. Personally, I narrow it down to lightning bolt, and its objectively greater predecessors (only including those of which I also have a strong personal connection to)—vs., vitalogy, and the “Into The Wild” soundtrack—before things start getting really challenging. anyways, I currently find myself leaning most towards vs. and this particular soundtrack (out of all of their/eddie’s solo releases), and wanted to get a taste for everyone else’s favorite track from the record. It’s a truly beautiful piece that accompanies an equally outstanding and likewise troubling film, and it is for absolutely none of those reasons that I strongly believe that “far behind” is the soundtrack’s best song. Great verses, an even greater pre-chorus, and a most phenomenal bridge. I also like how eddie does his best michael jackson impression at the beginning of the song if you listen close enough.
