Is anyone else receiving emails from Microsoft/Skype about random currency gifts?

This is a bit offbeat for this sub but I had nowhere else to ask because honestly trying to track down the microsoft support email is apparently no longer possible.

Couple months back I got a email out of the blue saying that someone gifted me 8.99 BRL to my skype account and I thought that was weird given that I haven't used Skype in over 5 years. So I proceeded to delete my Skype account/Microsoft account.

Then today I got an email from skype saying that I purchased 400 minutes worth of calls to China using that exact amount of money. So I changed my password again because apparently the deletion of account takes ages.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on?
