I've been planning on my gaming build for a while but I realized that I also need to make sure that it serves my professional needs.
My job requires that I have a Mac and I use Linux for personal programming needs and I use Windows primarily for gaming.
So I'm thinking I should ideally do best with a rig with three separate storage drives, each with a different operating system.
I don't know much about the CPU/GPU compatibility with Mac OS. I'd need to install Monterey on it. This is the tricky part.
I've been wanting an AMD CPU (mainly for their performance-to-power figures) with an NVidia 3000 series GPU (I mainly want to game on my 2k 144Hz monitor). But I have heard that AMDs support for Mac is kinda poor. That's kind of a bummer because I've been waiting for the AMD 7000 series CPU enthusiastically.
So I suppose I should go for an Intel CPU. But not sure if I'm strictly restricted to that.
So my questions:-
- Can I still get away with going for an AMD in making a Hackintosh build?
- Am I missing something in wanting a build that can serve all the three OS that i want? As in, it's possible right? What could be the complications?
- For a Hackintosh, am I restricted in GPU choices?
If there is anything else I should look out for, please let me know.
Thanks.
