How I ended up paying 3900DKK(632 USD) for a computer with a 10700k and an RTX 2080Super after some trading.

Forwarning: The title is not meant to be misleading. Please read full post. All deals went down in FEB 2021

So as many others I was planning on getting a new rig when the RTX 30xx series cards dropped with a nice little 5800x to boot. But as many others, trying to get a hold of said items was next to impossible.

I had given up on buying a new pc until I saw a guy in my town selling a computer with an i5 9600k, 32gb of ram, Asus Tuf Z390 mobo, 2TB of SSD storage (Both NVME and SATA), and abhorrent Antec case and the crown jewel of a 5600XT Asus ROG Strix OC for 7.500DKK, to me still a bit steep but the secondary market is bonkers at the moment, so I went for it. All parts were brand new and had receipts and warranty.

After I got the computer home, I got to thinking that I could upgrade when the market becomes more stable. So, I decided to sell my Xbox One S and PS4 as they weren´t being used and the console market is crazy as well. They got sold together for 2.100DKK.

I decided to sell my old pc, and aging i5 6500 and GTX 970, but still excellent little rig if you want to get into pc gaming. It was sold at 2.500DKK.

This gave me 4600 for a new GPU. Pretty sweet I thought, but market it still crazy so best wait…

That was until I saw a guy in Copenhagen, selling a PC with a 10700k, 2080Super Asus ROG Strix OC, 1TB of NVME, B460 Mobo (No overclocking ☹) and 32gb of ram, with a minimum price of 10.000DKK.

I figured no harm in bidding the 10.000DKK for it, and to my surprise after a couple of days I won the pc.

I was then able to sell the new old pc with 9600k/5600xt for 9000DKK after some tweaking and throwing some cheap and cheerful flashy RGB fans in I wasn´t going to use.

So, after some quick math’s, a new pc cost me a total of 3.900DKK.

I´m quite happy with my rig at the moment, and I might trade the 2080 super for a 30xx series card, even though the upgrade at this point is not worth it for me personally.

I´m currently scouring the internet for a used Asus z490 board, if I can´t find one ,I´ll bite the bullet and buy a z590 board new.
