Founder's Cards or Third-Party design?

I've never purchased a graphics card before. I've been using my 1070 from a pre-built and just moved it over to a new case. I'm finally gonna upgrade my card to the 3080. Is it better to wait for aftermarket cards from ASUS, Gigabyte, etc or buy the founders edition cards when they are released?
