Transferring Windows 10 to new build

Post Body

Hi guys,

So I built my PC about 8 years ago, I purchased windows 8.1 and took advantage of the free Windows 10 home upgrade.

I have ordered almost a completely new computer, only keeping the graphics card from the previous build. My goal is to transfer windows over to this new computer without having to purchase a new copy of windows.

I currently have a digital license of Windows 10 home linked to my Microsoft account, but have been getting mixed answers on whether or not I am able to actually activate windows on the new PC (with new motherboard and CPU) with that digital license due to it being a free upgrade from windows 10.

Has anyone been able to successfully install windows on a new SSD linked to a new motherboard with their Microsoft account? (linked to an activated digital license.)

If there is another way to do this please let me know!
