Hello people from PCMASTERRACE, hows everyone doing?
Im currently not doing good because i have this problem and i really cant decide and i was hoping if you guys could help me clear some questions to help me make my mind up.
Basically I have a laptop with a GTX 1060 6GB, 16 GB of ram and a I7-6700HQ
Im planning on buying a monitor which ill connect to my laptop.
I have 2 options in mind:
MSI Optix MAG322CQRV: Its a 31.5 inch 16:9 1440p 144hz
or
LG 34GL750-B: Its a 34 inch 21:9 1080p 144hz
Now, ive seen many videos and many shows that my graphics card cant really handle AAA games at ultra on 1440p, now i dont mind going down to high or mid.
I mostly play League of legends, but also some AAA games ( At the moment tekken 7, Witcher 3 and Battlefiled 4), but not so often.
My budget is between 400 to 500 euros at the moment. If you guys have any suggestions for other monitors that are better even if they are a bit pricier (tops 650 euros) please do let me know.
My questions are:1- Apart from gaming, i also watch videos on youtube, netflix and i do some programing, which do you think its better for this tasks and why?
2- Is it really a big jump from 1080p to 1440p ? Ive always played with 1080p so i have no idea, does it really make that much of a difference ?
3- The 1440p is a VA panel while the 1080p is a AH-IPS panel, i heard that for gaming there is a lot of complains for VA panels but I dont know about IPS, which would you consider better for gaming ?
4- Should I go for the 1440p for future proofing, even if my laptop cant really handle the 1440p 144hz, since its likely that Ill be able to get my first PC build late next year with updated graphics card and basically everything. Or do you think i should just enjoy the ultra wide 1080p 144hz which i think its easier to run for now and even be more likely to reach the sweet 144hz in the future with the new PC.
Sorry for the long post and I hope that everyone has a great day!
Thanks in advance!
