Trying to upgrade my PSU but now I get a four beep error code for PSU Overload.
Post Body

I have an HP 8300 Elite Small Form Factor computer with every thing stock except an i5 3470 and replacing the 4x2 RAM with 2x8. Everything ran fine for normal computer usage. I would like to start playing games on my computer so I got anMSI Aero 1050 ti. I thought it would fit in my case but it didnt so I cut access through the top. I didn't have enough Psu to run the video card so i bought a 600W non modular psu and a case fan. The cords were long enough to run the 600W externally and put the case fan where the psu was. I had to buy an adapter for a 24 pin power to a 6 pin PCIE and a 6 hole 4 pin Power CMD. After I hooked everything up and turned the power on, the motherboard lit up and all of the fans turned on for a half second. Then the green power light turned red and blinks and beeps four times. I looked it up and even have the blueprints to the mother board (link: https://www.manualshelf.com/manual/hp/hp-compaq-elite-8... ). This error code means Power Failure power supply overload. I also tried without the video card and same result. What does this mean exactly and what could i try to fix it? The computer still works if i put the old Psu back in and take the video card out. I would like to try to reset the CMOS but i am nervous because i dont know what to do after i reset it or if it would even help.
