Is buying a 750 Ti now a good idea?

A friend of mine bought one about a year ago and I'm thinking of buying it from him. I just want it to play a couple games that are already out and maybe for 2 or 3 games being released soon. I don't really mind playing on ultra settings. Also, due to financial problems its probably the best I can do at the moment. Thoughts?
