MSI GT62VR 6RD mini displayport not functioning Asus MG279Q Windows 10
Post Body

currently trying to get my new monitor to work as intended and am having a fair amount of trouble. Monitor- Asus MG279Q Laptop- MSI GT62VR 6RD - gtx 1060 updated bios drivers on everything I could. Tried updating to the lates nvidia driver (376.09) but received the error "this graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" so I'm currently on 375.63 until I resolve that issue.

Monitor works as intended with HDMI but the mini display port does not register the monitor in any form. I was able to get the windows notification sound and the display settings appeared to show a second monitor but I was unable to make any adjustments or get a signal on the monitor. since updating the bios' that I could the notification sound that something has plugged in has ceased and I no longer have the slight information regarding a generic pnp monitor nor any sign that the monitor is plugged in as before.

I would run off HDMI but the issue is the laptop only supports 1.4 which takes me out of 144hz which was my main reason for purchasing the monitor.

I've tried the unplugging the monitor method to no avail. All updates have proved fruitless, Adjusted power settings to performance in power plan and on the nvidia global settings with no results. I'll have to grab a mini display to mini display along with a mini display to hdmi and see if that fixes anything at all but at the moment it seems like the mini displayport on the GT62VR laptops are just straight up not functioning.

If any of you lovely people would be so kind as to give me a guiding hand in the matter it would be greatly appreciated, I have all but exhausted my googling abilities which Is why I have resorted to posing the question. Searching for the specific laptop issue is tiring as it loves to brings up reviews and nothing pertaining to my problem on the exact laptop model.

Thanks for your time.
