It's not the end of PC Gaming.

It didn't kill the modding community.

Valve is not EA. Valve is still Valve.

It's a poor business choice made by a well-known developer.

Everybody is blowing this way out of proportion and I am sick of it.

With the way this subreddit and Valve's fanbase in general have been mindless zealots defending every little thing they do and doing crazy stuff like buying bedsheets of the CEO's face, how could you possibly expect them not to pull something like this? They've been finding new ways to make money over the years, and that's just what modding seemed like to them: a new way to make money.

They're not suddenly evil for thinking you're stupid. Nothing changed but your own perspective. Calm the hell down.
