I've had a savings account since I was 5, so here I am ready to use it to fund my ascension to the glorious Master Race. Here is the build I had planned out so far:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks
However, I have a few worries about this build. Here are some of them:
Is the motherboard any good? For me it's been the hardest part to do research for.
I don't want to spend a whole lot on the mouse and keyboard, but I want a keyboard that has a numpad and a mouse with a few extra buttons. Are there any other recommendations out there?
As much as I am psyched about getting a 144Hz monitor, I'm wondering if I should spend a little more and get two lesser-quality monitors, since I plan to do some streaming (both for charity and just for fun).
And my main concern about this build: I can't decide between the Graphite Series 230T or an NZXT H440. I like both cases a lot, but I guess it really boils down to which one is going to be smaller. I know I need some room to work in the case, but I don't want a monster case sitting on my desk when I'm just using a single graphics card and 2 hard drives. I will admit, however, that I like the window on the H440 a lot more as well as the compartments for the PSU and drives.
I also know one of the main things people will say about this is "why do you need 16 gigs of RAM"? Well, I plan on doing quite a bit of video editing and possibly 3D animation on this rig, since I am starting college this fall majoring in digital media (and I will be shooting videos with my friends and needing a good PC to edit on). I really feel that I will be better off with more RAM for these uses.
tl;dr This is my build. How are my choices of MB, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and should I stick with the 230T or get an H440?
