Headset vs Headphones & Mic

I'll keep it simple. New PC so now I want new sound.
I already have a boom arm and Mic. Using an older set of Astro a50 that have terrible battery life and hurt my ears after long gaming / work sessions.
$120 or less is the budget.
I'm a very patient person who will scour the net for deals. Even used.
Closed back only.
Wired or wireless is fine.
What would you recommend?
