I'll be judged a lot. But i had a 3070ti 8gb, and enough spare money to buy 4060ti 16gb. Against people's recommendation i bought 4060ti 16gb. In 1440p, when i am playing Hogwarts Legacy the vram on ultra to high settings is reaching 12gb plus without DLSS, with DLSS its reaching 11 gb plus. Its very playable at those settings. 3070ti would struggle at these settings with horrible stutters. Now why not 7800xt, cs i want ray tracing. Some told me to add more money and get 4070 super, but thats 12 gb which means that also would have faced stutters. And 4070ti is outta my budget. In Far Cry 6, enabling hd textures shoots up vram usage to 9.2 gb ish. I kinda dont regret getting 4060ti with the money i had, i plan to use it for 1.5 years. Like 8 gb vram is absolutely horrible, 12gb vram on high end cards unacceptable. 16 gb is minimum if u are playing at 1440p and want to crank up settings.
