X99 Chinese motherboards
Post Body

I know they seem to be hit or miss when it comes to functionality, but hoping someone has some knowledge and can answer a few questions.

I did look at going AM4, on a budget but I already have ECC DDR4 ram and a 12 core E5 v4 Xeon CPU to use, believe it turbos to 3.5ghz.

In theory I could save around £200 going this route and used x99 boards that are branded are expensive and generally ATX where I need mATX.

So my questions are: 1. Any brands that are known to be better than others or even better a recommendation? 2. I see some people saying the VRMs are letting them down, what do I need to look for on this front? 3. Power draw at idle compared to a ryzen fo arguement sake is it really that bad/different? 4. Gaming, I use a 1440p, will this work in my favour pushing more load to the GPU than the CPU? 5. I see some people say that a 4060 is a good match, but if I go more powerful is it just a waste and I won't see much gains?

Thank you.
