The title. I'm working on upgrading an old desktop I got for free. I got an i7-6700 for $40 which will be a suitable replacement to the i3-7100 currently running on the system.
In addition, I am upgrading the PSU so that I can add an RTX 2070 Super in the single x16 PCIe lane this PC has. All in all, I am fairly confident everything will work.
My question is, will these specs be enough for VR? I assume an RTX 2070S will do great in VR. I'm mostly going to be playing Blade and Sorcery and Skyrim VR (with mods of course, as Skyrim was intended.)
Outside VR, I'll just be playing 1080p, 60 fps minimum.
So my question is, will VR be a wasted expense with these specs? If so, I was thinking to upgrade to an i5-12600k with a new motherboard instead. I mean a new CPU will be an inevitable upgrade anyways. It's just a matter of getting VR first or a new CPU first.
