Trying to figure out which part is broken

PC been acting up (8 year old build). It eithers:
- Powers on then immediately shuts down
- Power on, then cycle between off and until it actually boots
- Powers on but no display or lights on keyboard
Its not the PSU (only a few weeks old)...what is a good way to diagnose this? I already tried taking out all RAM and slotting back one stick at a time (changed PSU a few weeks ago and it kind of fixed the issue for a few days).
In case it matters: mobo is an Asus z970 Pro4, with some intel chip i cant remember
