Am I making a purchase mistake?

I have a Legion 5 laptop with a 11th gen i5 / 32gb ram and a RTX 3060, it plays everything I want at reasonable settings on my external display at 1440p.

On a whim I've got the urge to build so gone out and bought a case, PSU and an SSD. Then I was going to gradually buy the other few bits over the next 3 months.. spec wise I was looking at a Ryzen 7600, RX6750XT or 6800XT. As that's sort of my budget, if you were me do you think I'm wasting money and would just use the laptop until it no longer does the job?
