GPU suddenly not working, help!

Hi all! First time poster, long time lurker lol! I have an ASUS G20AJ that I upgraded to a GTX 1080 fe, and it was working fine last night before I went to bed, but when I got up today and woke my computer, no output! I tried different cables and hdmi ports, and finally tried my motherboard hdmi port, and got output from the Intel hd graphics module. I’m going to take it apart but why would it stop working all of a sudden? The system isn’t even detecting it at all, I poked around in device manager
