Dual channel and single channel ram problem (pc not working)
Post Body

parts are
i7 2600k
2 x 8gb ddr3 (pretty sure its corsair vengence 1600mhz)
asrock z77 extreme4 mobo
1080ti
and 550w psu

so my pc sometimes acts weird and wont boot up and gives me the error code 55 which im pretty sure has to do with ram, all i have to do is take my slot 4 (using 2 sticks in slot 2 and slot 4) ram out and then boot in with on stick shut down insert the other stick and then done it works. but recently ive taken apart and rebuilt and cord manage my pc as i was bored (no new parts added) ive had this issue where it would boot cycle and then ill have to do the process that i stated before, it worked for the first time but i turned it on today for the second time since rebuilding and the issue happened again, i did the process again and it worked but once it would then either shut off 1 or 2 minutes after loading up or it would freeze randomly. so i then went into bios and underclocked the ram sticks to 1067 which would work with one stick but as i put the other one in it would just go to what ever frequency it felt like (tried clearing cmos but the bios wont reset and also even if i put the ram frequency and xmp profile to auto it would just do the same thing.

The only fix ive found is to run both sticks in single channel mode. with sticks being in slot 1 and 2.

could be a bent pin but it was working in dual channel mode yesterday so i dont understand. please help reddit
