SSD broke on 2020 laptop crashed

On My 2020ish Dell G5s that I got for college with a 500gb SSD has crashed. Would it still be a good investment to get a 1TB SSD and a basic windows free to use the laptop. I mostly use it for the occasional game and 90% for my 3D printing. Best Buy has one I can get today for ~$60 after tax. I know tech has sky rocketed again in the past few years and I had this laptop for college.
