First things first, tried set max fps command and i know my CPU is nearly as old as her majesty the queen, so my conclusion was that the CPU is the bottleneck. I reinstalled CSGO and Win10 multiple times.
My system:
Core i7 2600 (non K) overclocked to somewhat between 4 to 4.2 GHz
GTX 1070 8GB
16GB DDR3 1333 MHz
250 GB SSD (where Win 10 and CSGO are installed) 2 TB SSD (both SATA3)
Gigabyte P67A D3 B3 Motherboard

Hey,I'm playing CSGO a lot, but i noticed some issues concerning the FPS. I tried different settings, like from all minimum to maxed out, different resolutions from less than 720p up to 2k (actually i went from 1080 to 2k last year and the fps didn't change at all). On older maps like Dust II i get between 100-140 FPS but with strong fluctuations down to 60, but not in smokes or molotovs, just while walking. I was able to reduce the fluctuations to like 70 or 80 with disableing the steam overlay (all other programmes were closed already). On newer maps i get between 70 to 90 FPS despite the fact that it makes the game close to unplayable, i think lower FPS on newer maps are pretty common. The most annoying thing is, that i get like a "stutter" while shots are fired at me, like it's too hard sychronize the actual shots, the image and the sound to each other. When i shoot, usually only the FPS decrease slightly, but it seems to be sychronized.
I know that i can't expect 300 FPS expecially with this CPU, but i think it's strange that i get the same FPS on different settings even though most of these settings just increase or decrease the GPU load, not the CPU load. In the Taskmanager the CPU load is between 50-60%, GPU load between 30-40.But what do you guys think, is it just the bottleneck or could i try to change anything else to try to get more FPS?
