Just wondering. I've been on other sims and haven't played PCARS2 in many months, and I'm a much better driver than when I last played (AI was at 68 when I started a new career, I had to bump the AI to between 94 and 100 to make them remotely competitive now). I decided to run the career starting with the GT5 but I'm finding the AI is like... really happy to slam straight into your side when two or three wide, or push their nose into your rear side panel when behind and force a spin, and I'm like... uh, unsportsmanlike conduct anyone?
I got through it, but it really does feel like the AI is a bit on the robotic side. I feel like many of the incidents were the AI not reacting to conditions and just trying to force their way onto the racing line, even when there wasn't space.
Is this in my head? I feel like other sims like ACC, AMS2, and R3E just have better AI who drive more naturally overall, whereas the AI in PCARS2 just seems like it's not particularly aware of the player's car.
I did have the aggression way up at 85. Turned it down to 65 and things went better, but then the races got boring and they didn't work to overtake. I dunno. Enjoying the career mode, but it's just not really great AI. Maybe it's just the class of car? Anyone know how to dial in the AI in PCARS2 for exciting racing without BS maneuvers that have the AI just trying to kill you instead of race you?
As an aside, I haven't been to this subreddit in a while and I'm amused that the banner still shows "Project Cars 2" despite the release of PCARS3. I also like to pretend the third game never happened. 😂
