Why does the first PCARS feel better than PCARS2?
Post Body
PCARS 2:
- Vacuum kerbs that slide you, and seemingly random penalties for using them.
- grass and dirt are more like ice
- Weak FFB that needs a lot of tweaking and still never feels quite right.
- Many cars don't "feel" right (grain of salt, I'm not a pro driver)
- Ridiculously easy spins that are hard to catch (that's tied to the FFB, IMO)
Original PCARS:
- Gravel and dirt/sand will spin you, but you can ease out of it.
- No vacuum kerbs, and kerb FFB actually feels like a kerb. And you can actually use them as intended.
- Grass can be driven and you can get back on track if you're careful
- Great default FFB, at least on my TMX Pro
- Cars "feel" better than PCARS2 (as noted, I feel this is related to the FFB).
What am I missing here? I like PCARS 2 but am terrible at it. I'm not great at PCARS the first, but I feel like I can figure out what I'm doing wrong and correct based on the feedback. PCARS2 actually feels and plays much worse than the original game. I don't get it. I also play Assetto Corsa, and while I originally preferred PCARS2 for the career mode, I can't deny that driving feels better in AC.
