Hello everyone, I’m Deuce (he/they, she if it fits). I’m a queer black college student looking for people interested in telling creative and unorthodox stories together. I’ve been interested in game design and tabletop roleplaying games since I was 10, and I’ve developed a passion for the craft. Particularly in the way that we adapt and tell stories together.

This time, I want to find a group of people interested in fantasy. I know it’s the traditional genre, but I’ve strayed away from fantasy recently 🥲. I’ve decided to go back to my roots, and have a game where we can explore the impacts of magic and monsters on a setting, culture, etc.

For the system I want to do this, I think they’re all fucking ass. Dungeon World is old as shit, and despite its recent progress 5th edition and the forgotten realm setting continue to show signs of dated beliefs in their game design philosophy. However, 5e is a popular fucking system. putting Dungeon World in my post is not going to attract any kind of audience. Soooo, Ima pick DnD with the understanding that the shit parts will be getting gutted and slutted right the fuck out of this table.

LOGISTICS AND EXPECTATIONS: This will be a play-by-post game, played through discord. The goal is to be pretty active, as in making an effort to be responsive and communicative during periods and unusual inactivity. However, I do not want to cultivate a culture where people feel pressured to respond quickly. I’m in EST. I will be DMing, but I will be deferring a lot of my power to the players. We will be using 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons, with the understanding that any player can submit, at any time, a bit of game design OR lore into the game pending review from the other players.

CONCEPT: This game will be about Planar travel. I wanna fuck around and make up cool shit and I think swapping around and exploring different planes all Doctor Who like is a damn good way to do that. I’m thinking we maybe start at one of the low to mid levels? Would be hard to get me to go under 5 but I’m flexible.
