Tales of Dread is a 5e asynch PbP game that will start off with a one-shot and move on to other adventures from there.

Premise:

You have been hired by a tired looking merchant to investigate a small village to the east of Neverwinter. Several shipments were due to arrive from there weeks ago, and the other people that she sent to investigate never returned. You are all too familiar with tales like these… The merchant’s plight means little to you, it is only another piece of a puzzle. You are ever on the hunt for the mists of Ravenloft, a link to the Domains of Dread. Your reasons are your own, but you are not alone in your quest. Others, like you, have a desperate need or an unhinged desire to traverse the mists and land in a domain of dread.

The merchant’s story could be a lead, or it could be another waste of time… There is something about this lead that feels right to you, it feels promising, like the long curling fingers of the mist are beckoning to you. Come, they whisper, come to the lands of shadow and dread. Come and pledge your pathetic soul to the lords of darkness…

\*This is the original hook, but since the party has already started this quest, as a new player I will work with you and your character's backstory to weave you into the story. At level 3, characters should have some familiarity with Ravenloft and actively want/need to get there.*
