Today I received a notification that my account has been permanently limited and I won’t be able to conduct any further business using PayPal. The message says that I am in violation of the AUP, specifically the sale of unapproved file sharing services - which is not what we do. I've reached out via Twitter, Facebook and email already, but I only get generic copy-pasted responses saying that this is a final decision that can't be changed. Here's the full message:
"I’m sorry you no longer have access to our services. This type of decision isn’t something we do lightly, and I can assure you that we fully review all factors of an account before making this type of decision. While I understand that you don’t agree with the outcome, this is something that would have been fully reviewed and we would be unable to change. If there is a balance in the account, that will be held for up to 180 days to minimize any potential risk of loss due to disputes or chargebacks that may be filed during that period. After 180 days, you’ll be notified of your ability to withdraw the balance. If you have any issues then, please let us know. I regret that we’re unable to provide the answer you’re looking for in this situation, and hope you have a good day. "
I really need serious help with this. This is very stressful for me right now as I have to deal with multiple real life issues such as medical concerns on top of this, and my livelihood depends on the balance in my account. I understand that there may have been investigations that happened to come to this conclusion, but I believe there has been a misunderstanding in the matter.
I've been using Paypal for over 9 years already and this was really sudden. I run a Minecraft server and all the transactions are legitimately from in-game perks, items, and cosmetics that our players buy.
We do not operate any file sharing service which according to the UAP means "Providing file sharing services including cyberlockers and similar remote digital file sharing services where uploaded content is accessible to the public or the service pays uploaders for content."
We do not lock any files under a pay wall, nor do we allow users to upload any files for storage or sharing. Our users are not paying uploaders for content since we don't own any file sharing service so I don't understand how they came to that conclusion and I don't understand why they keep saying it can't be changed.
I don't know what to do anymore... pls help.
