I've never played any of the civilization games, but I've heard good things about them and I'm a big fan of strategy games in general. The civilization collection is currently on sale on steam for $25, but it contains a ridiculous number of items that I know I'll never play. I've decided to get one of them, possibly with some DLC. Should I get Civ III, IV, or V? Also, are any of the expansion packs "must buys?"
EDIT: Thanks guys, I decided to go for Civ IV with Beyond the Sword. Upboats all around for helpfulness! :D
