I've recently got back into SOD2 and I'm loving my time with it. At times it's a bit of mixed bag with weird bugs, losing saves. I just love the gameplay loop and everything about it.
The basebuilding I think is really fun. I like looking at the map seeing the biggest base. Building up my team, saving renown and finally having enough to buy it.
The plague hearts are also intense to take out. Plenty of times im on my last bit of health and just manage to destroy it. So satisfying.
I don't think the game is perfect. Reading some negative reviews I totally get it. I played the first SOD so this time around I wish they made the combat less simple and more satisfying. You look at the combat in the last of us games. The combat in those games are SAVAGE. You feel the impact of every hit.
I had other bugs I encountered as well.I'm playing on PC and I quit to desktop one time. Lost hours of progress.had to turn off cloud saves and only quit to the menu to make sure it doesn't happen anymore.
All in all. I think its an incredible game. I just saw an article today that even in 2022 they will be adding updates. I think it definitely worth playing.
