Past few years now as I've gotten older, I've generally noticed that I get emotional or cry more at things, and when I'm playing games I definitely notice it. I think I've teared up/sobbed at a good few games in my life which are the following:
The Last Of Us: Ironically I didn't cry until the very end, never got emotional at any of character deaths, dramatic moments or otherwise, but the final conversation between Joel and Ellie at the end got me weeping, damn what a game.
Red Dead Redemption: John Marston. Nothing else to say, got real upset when he died.
Super Mario Odyssey: Started getting real emotional at the Jump Up Superstar section, it was such a wonderful celebration of the medium and Mario, and considering I'd been a longtime fan of him, god did it just make me feel some amount of emotion.
Uncharted 4: Seeing how far the franchise had come and that after everything that Nathan had gone through, he finally owns up to his own ego and is able to reconcile everything within himself, that got me going.
Hollow Knight: Couldn't believe how attached I got to this game and how much it made me feel, but when the Vessel is rising up from the Abyss and the narration is seen across the screen, with that fuckin music, jesus christ it all got a bit too much.
Fallout 4: Played it for two hours, turned it off and cried because it was a bit shit
I know this is in dudebro territory, but the way Dom goes out in Gears of War 3 was so expertly done. I still get weepy thinking about it, what he went through, and how it ultimately resolves.
