Just for context I've played halo 1-4. Never played ODST or reach before cause that's when I got way into the COD and battlefield series. And took a long break from the halo games.
I bought the master chief collection on steam out of boredom cause of the Covid BS going on.
Its honestly a really cool game. I havent beaten the game yet. Going back to halo is so interesting with how the combat plays out. People describe it as a combat puzzle and I agree.
They change things up with the levels quite nicely. They'll have a level with verticality and give you a jetpack, or you'll get into dogfights with a ship in space, boots on the ground levels obviously, a night level.
I was surprised by the music. Its superb. Very different and weird at times.
Just overall it's just so fun. As a shooter fan there's nothing out there with the halo formula. All of the enemy types, the unique weapons/vehicles, combat scenarios.
On the negative side I would say the game can be difficult at times even at normal difficulty, the space ship dogfighting level in space went on a bit too long, I would say the halo thing of a random explosion would happen in combat you die and you have no idea what happened can be frustrating.
As a former halo fan. It's amazing I'm so excited to play through the games again. Especially ODST.
