Hi Reddit, you have to check out this game. It's the most innovative shooter I've played in years.
I can't say much without revealing it's treats, but a hint would be that I get a lot of Portal vibes from this game! This game likes to poke fun at you and is super creative. There are moments it feels like the game is truly over, but the surprises never stop. ;)
I honestly think the game is quite perfect for what it is, and I'm quite picky!
While playing, I did wish for a mode or level where you are insanely OP and get to invincibly demolish enemies. I suppose we did get a small part of that.
This game likes to acknowledge cleverness and trying to find loopholes around the system, such as trying to escape or not obeying orders. That was super cool
There was one instance though, where I personally think they missed a good opportunity to do so, but that's just me nitpicking. It was during the Core I was hoping that if we shot it, it wouldn't just be a simple wall, but would warn us further or even kill us like how the player could kill enemies effortlessly with the core.
The game being this short is just fine, but as I said this game gives me Portal vibes and I would love to see a sequel where the game is full blown and long. Hoping it would reveal all its secrets and show its own "Glados" of sorts that we can personally meet.
Also, this game I can see it being many times better in VR than it is already, so I recommend playing it in VR if you are able (unfortunately I couldn't).
I'm surprised I only heard about it this year, must be living under a rock, since it's been out for a few years now. Anyways, if you ever thought about trying it out, do so! It is only a few hours of gameplay, and most people may have picked it up from the Epic store for free :)
