Hey patient Gamers!

I have a friend that I regularly play with and we have been wanting to experience a great story in coop. Any tips what we could have a look at?

What we've enjoyed in the past: DayZ is where we started. World of Tanks is our go-to game for any evening. We played GTA V but both liked the single player story waaaay more than the mess that multiplayer is. Far Cry 3 is the same with a mind boggling story and coop mode that is barely adequate. The Division has a story that is 100% multiplayer compatible but it somehow didn't click for us. We tried it out for a day but have since left it at that. Last night we picked up Portal 2 for -85% on Steam and finished the coop mode in one go. Great fun but not a great story...

Anyways where's the games with great storytelling that don't care wether there's one or two of you playing?
