I'm playing quite a bit less competitive multiplayer since I became a patient gamer. Anyone else notice this?
I think there's the obvious reason that many MP modes are tacked on and die off quickly, so they're pretty much non-existent just by virtue of buying the game later on, but I also feel like I've begun to dislike the "MP treadmill" as I've seen it called here.
Maybe I'm just getting old, but I don't feel that leveling or spending the time to "git gud" so I can <insert prestige mechanic> is worth my time anymore. I'd rather experience a good campaign.
I've come full circle in a way, because for the majority of my gaming years (starting on an Atari 2600) most titles didn't even have competitive multiplayer.
