3 months of turnaround is no longer enough time to launch a successful league
Post Body

This may be an unpopular opinion but after seeing the comments from Chris about how much got lost in the shuffle while Kalandra was being developed, as well as the more recent feedback from those with alpha access about loot feedback not getting the proper attention, it seems like 3 months between releases just doesn't cut it anymore

Even with Sentinel league basically serving as a development buffer, Chris said himself that they didn't have the time they needed to gather tester feedback and properly assess the ramifications of their actions, and it shows because the team's messaging for Kalandra ended up being all over the place and a ton of problems slipped through the cracks. It's pretty much accepted right now that a league will get 2 weeks of support - maybe 3 if the league is completely fucked up - before the devs move on to work on the next launch. Supporting the active league for another week or two than usual and giving the upcoming league an extra month in the oven could go a long way toward setting launches up for success

Again, probably unpopular, but I really wouldn't mind a 4 month league cycle at all, maybe even 6 months if the mid-point had some lower-maintenance short term events to shake things up as folks taper off in anticipation of the next league

I don't think it's very controversial to say the last few league starts going back to scourge have been undercooked, and while I know it's impossible for a dev team to do as much testing in a few months as the collective playerbase can in a few days, I've played since closed beta and have not ever seen the community this collectively dick-twisted, either at the league, each other, or both, so I think it's genuinely worth discussing whether a shorter turnaround is worth it when these shaky first impressions generate so much vitriol and distrust
