breaking down the pathfinder "buff"
Post Body

so the bottom line, for anyone who doesn't wanna read, is that this is a straight-up nerf to chaos attack builds, barely benefits or breaks even for other builds because of the nature's boon nerf, and forces all pathfinders to either take a durability nerf or pick up master alchemist

looking at the absolute best case scenario, a PF using 5 magic utility flasks would need to use topaz ruby sapphire to counteract the nerf to nature's boon. with the extra 20% flask effect these three flasks would get an extra 10% res and 4% less elemental damage taken. You'd then pick 2 of the following for your other flasks -

300 armor or evasion
2% spell suppression
4% more armor or evasion
7% all ele res
7% chaos res
20% chc
12% reduced effect of freeze on you
nothing (lol silver flask)
 40 ward
8% movespeed
6% item rarity
8% increased damage
6% increased stun threshold

in addition to 5 of the following from your flask suffixes -

[edit] added missing veiled crafts

8-12% increased armor or evasion
1-2% movespeed
10-16% increased block/stun recovery
4-8% all ele res
.08-.16% attack damage or spell damage leech
2-3% increased attack or cast speed
4-7% freeze/shock/ignite chance (lol 16-13% ailment chance nerf)
3-10% chance to avoid being stunned
7-13% reduced effect of freeze chill / ignite / shock / curses
6-11% chance to avoid freeze chill / ignite / shock
5-11% chc
1% max life regen
3% damage taken leeched as life
5% reduced mana cost
16% reduced reflected damage taken

elemental or chaos spell pathfinders who only used magic utility flasks and got dunked on by the nerf to flagellant are paradoxically hurt both the most and least, in the sense that they lost a massive amount of sustain but also now have relatively little to lose by switching from surgeon to alchemist

pathfinders who use mageblood kinda-sorta benefit from this change as well, depending on their build, though PF is literally the last ascendancy you should be using mageblood on since the whole point of playing PF is that you can sustain flasks without it

on the flip side, chaos attack pathfinders got nerfed by this change no matter which way you look at it. they'll either have to eat a nerf to their defenses and continue using nature's adrenaline nature's reprisal, or take a massive dps hit by dropping one of them for master alchemist. for reference, my current viper strike PF would lose about 2.5m dps by dropping adrenaline, or 5.5m from nature's reprisal. either is far more than a palty 33% chc and 3% aspd

this all is to say nothing of PFs who *don't* use all magic utility flasks, of which there are quite a few. for anyone using some combination of life/mana and unique flasks - which is a *lot* of pathfinders, taste of hate alone is one of the most-used uniques for pathfinder, and dying sun, bottled faith, wise oak, and rumi's see a fair bit of usage as well - the nerf to nature's boon is a net loss whether they do or don't use master alchemist

I'm willing to attribute this change to ignorance instead of malice, and honestly the nerf to nature's boon isn't the end of the world, but like. Pathfinder honestly has been through enough and really doesn't need anything in her kit made worse, especially in exchange for something as small as this change to master alchemist. Just leave Britney alone, y'all
