Love POE, what a fantastic game. Been playing on, and off for a few years.

Since I don't have a ton of time to play, I buy and resell scarabs for currency.

Can buy / sell around 45 hr, usually profiting around 2 exalts. I'm usually messing around with other in-game things between deals.

Most the time there is no negotiation taking place. Tele to seller, pay asking price, and move on to the next deal.

Occasionally the market gets bare, resulting in only higher priced scarabs. When this happens, I start negotiating, usually only up to 5 chaos.

8/10 people get offended with any notion of a negotiation, to the point of sending insults, multiple berating paragraphs, and general toxicity.

Some of my favorites;

"Don't annoy me"

"Ignore me, we dont need to talk ever again"

"Your price just went up to X"

Even when you take longer than 30 seconds to make a deal, people start loosing it.

I've never played a game where people loose their mind at the thought of a price negotiation. Been gaming online for 20 years.

The most strange thing, people are generally very helpful otherwise.

What happened POE community?

TL:DR

People get their panties in a bunch at the thought of negotiating item prices.

Update:

Thanks for the comments guys. I didn't know there was POE trade tag for "exact" vs "asking" price.

What I've learned, in the realm of chaos priced items, few people as mentioned above will negotiate, and will fume at the smell of it. When you get into the exalted price realm, negotiations are way more accepted, and the toxicity drops to about 2/10 people.

Cheers!
