Trade is a big topic of division here. Some want a full on auction house. Some just want a master to sell items. Both go against the trade manifesto that many disagree with. But thereās a two small things that GGG can do to improve trade without going against their manifesto that would vastly improve the system.
The problem isnāt step 1 of finding the gear you want. Or step 2 of having to negotiate the sale. It is step 3: the interaction.
The problem as I see it is the onus is on the seller, not the buyer to stop what theyāre doing to make a sale. It begs the question of āis this offer worth my time?ā Is it worth stopping what Iām doing to leave my map, get to my stash, find the item, make the sale.
This step could be a lot easier if two changes were made.
Trade across instances -
Allow to people in party to trade across instances. In previous podcasts they said they were close to this. This was one I listened to recently from a post here where they said they had no problem with this back in like 1.1-1.2. I wasnāt playing back then so I donāt know why it was never implemented. I venture to guess because itās not quite that useful as the player would still have to access their stash to get the wanted item. But with the second suggestion, it would significantly assist.
Trade from stash
Thatās right. Disable trading from your inventory. Remove that step completely.
When trade window pops up my stash appears. I have no access to my inventory. I can get the items for trading within those tabs and when trade is complete all items of the trade go into my stash.
This prevents abuse. Allows trade interactions to be shorter time frame. I no longer have to go into my hideout and stash. I no longer have to load the sellers gpu killing hide outs.
The only negative I can see is making it slightly more difficult to trade between people within the same map. But they can always still drop the item needed to trade.
