Summon Skeletons and Added Damage

Alright, I am playing a necro summoner with a small army of skeletons. My current setup is:

Minion Damage, Faster Attacks, Feeding Frenzy, Multistrike, Empower

I've pretty much tried to max on Attack speed, as I am using "Severed in Sleep" to maximize the potential poison stacks.

Now I was thinking, would it be more effective to get rid of faster attacks and multistrike in favor of added damage like chaos, fire, cold.

If I took in "added chaos damage" it probably wouldn't be part of poison the poison, as only the skill's base damage is used for poison calculation, right?

To be fair I am not set on having them poison the enemy. It would be pretty simpel to just switch to a damage wand and get like 90% increased damage. So far they have no problems with any boss or mob. I am currently running t10 maps and on my way to transition to red maps soon.

I was just wondering, if I am missing a huge damage opportunity due to the 50% added Damage the gem has. I am not really a buff when it comes to damage calculations, so I wanted to ask, if anyone has more information on that front. :)
