New minion iteraction with items??

So i just made a new summoner on warbands and equipped a shitty iron ring that had " 2 life gained for each enemy hit by your attacks"
when i equipped this ring my zombie tooltip changed to "minions gain 2 life for each enemy they hit"
now i've played many summoners before and never noticed this, is it new?
