Pathfinder First Edition
We're a roleplay-forward, established queer group going into our second campaign looking to fill an empty seat at our table.
Currently our plan is to play a few one-shots to establish group cohesion with a new player before diving in to book one of Jade Regent.
We meet almost every Friday at 6:30 pm, and play for about 4 hours (roughly - we usually aim to find a good stopping point, sometimes that runs long, or short!) and use a discord server to coordinate schedules and loot/leveling up etc. The game doesn't run unless everyone's at the table, so you're expected to be able to come most Fridays. We do have lives outside the table, though, and between all of us, realistically only end up playing 3 out of every 4 Fridays or so.
Right now, we're playing in outer southeast in Portland, Oregon, easily reachable by public transport and close to major highways with street parking.
I am a GM with over 20 years of TTRPG experience, having played a little of every edition of D&D except 4th, Pathfinder, Shadowrun and more. I don't railroad and encourage you to fall down rabbit holes as you see fit. I use actual XP for leveling.
Our group is currently three folks with varying levels of experience with Pathfinder 1e - from exactly one one-shot to multiple years and campaigns, so we welcome any experience level.
Generally, we use one-shots to take a break with and shitpost, playing around, while the campaign stays fairly serious (without losing our sense of fun). I do my best to incorporate character backstories into the campaign in meaningful ways. I also value fun over RAW, and don't think total party kills are fun unless you're all fucking around and have ignored all the warning signs saying THIS IS A BAD IDEA. To give you an idea, my character questionnaire for Jade Regent is here, and my house rules document is here.
As a group, we're all queers in our late 20s - early 30s. We play in a currently pet-free household, and have no children. Everyone in the apartment is sitting to play, so there are few distractions! We're hoping to find someone we can get along with and call friend even outside the table. While we occasionally have alcohol during the session, no one is getting drunk either. Otherwise, we have pretty typical finger-foods for snacks - no full meals - and are vegan friendly!
Shoot me a message if you think you'd be a good fit - we'll go out for coffee and if I agree you'd likely fit, I'll give you the details for a one-shot with us!
(Please be prepared to bring your vaccine card or proof of medical incompatibility with the covid vaccine to the coffee meetup.)
