Hormonal behavior in conure
Post Body

My 11-year old conure is demonstrating some( ? hormonal) behavior where she is randomly attacks and bites through the cloth of my tshirts and scarves. In a raised voice I tell her “off! No! Stop!” But she doesn’t stop and instead jumps to another area and starts biting. She latches on and Won’t let go. She’s very sweet and normal one moment sitting on my head or next to my face and then a complete terror the next. There is no clear trigger for the behavior.

This is a new thing and occurs mainly with me (who she flies directly to) Vs others in my family. She is out of her cage all day long and goes in only to sleep at night where she tears paper at the bottom of her cage for fun.

Why is she behaving so aggressively? Is there anything I can give her outside of her cage to channel her energy so it’s not directed at me? How can I get her to stop attacking?
