My oldest... 14.5 years old, her boyfriend lives 3 hours away (same age). We go to them once a month and they come to us once a month. Parents driving the kids of course.
She is starting to say she doesn't want us (hubs and I) to stay when we go to their house because she wants to spend time alone with her boyfriend. I can understand that but they live in the middle of nowhere so what are we supposed to do for X hours while she's at his house? Plus I don't know what level of "supervision" his parents have if you know what I mean. We've hung out about 6 times since July. Also they don't really speak English although we all get along really well, there is a language barrier.
So the part where I suck: we used to live in a different state and that's when my daughter met her boyfriend, while playing games online. Once we decided to move (for work) and found out we live 3 hours apart, we set up a day for them to meet over the summer.
Why did I do that?!?!?!
Now that they've met in real life and know each other better... we still live far apart... It's just a hassle for us to keep this up. We can't really meet in the middle either because there's nothing in the middle but a town of like 1,000 people. I am busy with work, chores and my other kids too. My husband and I secretly want them to break up but there's not much chance of that happening.
Ughhhhhhhhhhh.
