So a little back story, I had an attorney, but he left two weeks ago. So a lot of this week has been dealing with settlement negotiations he hasn't finished. This is for personal injury.
So the two attorneys working on it have made some type of correspondence with OC. We were given a release and asking for lien information. I filled our the release, had the client sign, and told them he had a lien, but to make the whole amount payable to our Trust Account.
It's me, attorney 1, attorney 2, OC 1 and OC 2 (Opposing counsel) in this email thread. When I send them everything, they said the our client had a lien for a different amount and to please forward drafting instructions.
Attorney 2 replied that we had the lien information and will be sending drafting instructions. He includes someone from the subrogation department in his email.
So I am confused. Should I have responded and given the lien information and drafting instructions? Or by him adding someone else, was subrogation department supposed to respond with that information? It's been a day and I have not seen anyone respond further on this email.
It's annoying because I don't know if I should do something unless I am outright being told to do something. Mostly because I don't want to step on anyone's toes.
