So I'm mostly a support main been playing since early access and the one thing I don't like about the new card system is the lack of options for vision on support and in general. Most likely if you play support you are pigeon holed into the order affinity to select reliable vision in the form of wards. And yes I know that other additives have vision cards but honestly in the long haul nothing really beats vision like a good ward the will last awhile. So I've wondering if people in the community have ideas for wards that could be placed in each affinity to help build diversity amongst supports and other roles in general cause it feels like now it's the supports role to provide vision when it should be a team role. My ideas are below:
Ward in the death affinity. I like the idea of a cursed ward in the death affinity that would cost like 3 affinities points probably intellect I assume. And this cursed ward would provide vision but also slow enemies that cross through the area of vision for the ward. Some ways to balance this out besides it being cursed and taking up a card slot the entire game would be to have the ward be revealed when someone walks through it while being slowed this allows some counter play by having the enemy have a choice of either counting with the gang or stopping and removing the ward causing the team that placed the ward to have no vision in their lane to protect them. You could also have this wards radius be smaller than a regular wards radius to try to balance out of slow affect.
Growth affinity Is like to see a cultivate type of ward where you buy vitally and each additional vitally you buy increase the duration of the ward and the vision radius of the ward. It could be either or both of these affects I like the idea of the ward growing with the character that way it actually feels like that card slot is providing something extra throughout the game and not just a wasted card slot.
Intellect I think is pretty good right now static trap I use as a replacement for wards which has been working out relatively well so far. But maybe there could be an actual ward or not in this affinity. What do y'all think.
Chaos in all honestly I have no idea what type of ward could fit in here. Maybe just not having one at all or like a sentry type ward that paces back and forth in a line and once it detects an enemy it chases after them for a set distance or time and explodes dealing damage to that enemy. This ward I think would have a small radius of vision making it so the enemy could time the tank right to avoid detection by the sentry.
Order's ward right now is okay as is although I think the aura buff it gives is weak sauce so maybe for this ward you can have two charges on the ward but have the cool down time be longer then the other wards. This could be the ward that allows you to place a lot of vision on the map but to balance it out would be the longer cooldown time and maybe a shorter duration for the ward.
So I didn't put any stats on these ward ideas because honestly I don't know what they would need to be to be balance or fit the affinities. But what are your thoughts for more ward ideas. Should we have more wards to promote build diversity and team vision or will this lead to another mobilith where the map was just covered with wards.
FYI here's my back pocket pick for supports out there been messing around with kallari support lately seems decent with some fine tuning it might be somewhat viable had a few wins so far any tips from actual kallari mains out there. It somewhat works with finder of playthings, sprykin, and emeric as final build early game is good because her dagger does good damage low cooldown and low mana cost so with an aggressive arc you can secure an early game kill and snowball first tomorrow from them on roam middle with stealth and if solo lane needs help ult there.
